With the many changes in health care insurance, it is important that all patients understand their plan policies regarding referrals.
Due to the increase in insurances we accept, please do not expect us to know whether your insurance requires you to have referrals. It is the responsibility of the patient to know and understand their individual plan policies regarding referrals. If your plan does require referrals, three business days are required for referrals; otherwise your appointment may need to be rescheduled. We cannot honor walk-in referral requests unless it is a true emergency.
All referrals must be picked up prior to scheduled appointments. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask our staff for help, they may be reached at 856.691.8585, prompt #4.
Please be aware that some insurance companies do not allow us to authorize a retroactive referral.
Required information for referrals includes:
The date and time of your appointment
The name of the specialist and their Provider Identification #
Diagnosis and/or diagnosis code
Address, phone # and name of office in which child is to be seen
